Rome – Roma defender Leandro Castan, will undergo brain surgery today. The 28-year recovery period footballer was reportedly takes about six to eight months.
In November, the Giallorossi announced that Castan experience cavernoma. The disease is a disorder of blood vessels in the central nervous system (brain or spinal cord), which is a layer of very soft and smooth endotelnya, so fragile and cause bleeding.
To recover from cavernoma, Castan will undergo surgery on Wednesday (12/03/2014), in Rome. After surgery, the Brazilian defender must complete rest in hospital for a week.
Football Italia reported that Castan will take six to eight months in order to graze again.
Absence Castan in the long term it would be a great loss to the team made by Rudi Garcia. Last season he became a mainstay in the back in Serie A with a record 36 appearances in the domestic league.
