BIRMINGHAM – Aston Villa certainly will lose an important figure in the back line until the next six weeks after the captain, Ron Vlaar suffered a knee injury. Dutch international defender was known to be on the list of players the target of Manchester United.
Vlaar known to have a knee problem while competing melawa Crystal Palace in the Premier League earlier this year. In fact he missed the The Villa won 1-0 in the FA Cup Blackpool, Sunday (01/04/2015).
This is not the first time the 29-year-old defender suffered a knee problem. While still defending Feyenoord, Vlaar is known to have become two knee operations. The club also has issued an official statement regarding the condition of the general field.
“Ron Vlaar is expected to step aside for four to six weeks after suffering a knee injury,” wrote the Villa through their official Twitter account,AVFCOfficial, Friday (09/01/2015).
As is known, recently Vlaar touted to be the target of spending the Red Devils along with Louis van Gaal (LVG) as head coach. Earlier in the 2014 World Cup, Vlaar become part of the Dutch national team dibesut by LVG.
In addition to the players numbered four, United are also keen eyeing Borussia Dortmund defender, Mats Hummels and young fort Real Madrid, Raphael Varane to fill vulnerability in line behind Old Trafford.
