Milan – Massimo Moratti Inter Milan assess opportunities to finish in the top three zones end of the Serie A standings is not great. However, Moratti believes Inter can still qualify for the Champions League via the Europa League.
Sassuolo 1-3 defeat of Inter increasingly scattered in Serie A. The Nerazzurri now occupies the 13th position with the acquisition of 26 points. They are within 13 points of Napoli who occupy the third position or the lowest position to qualify for the Champions League next season.
According to Moratti, this distance is too heavy to be trimmed by Inter in the rest of the season. However, the former president of the Inter Beneamata calling opportunities to qualify for the Champions League has not been closed. He sees the Europa League as a more realistic way to reach the Champions League.
Starting next season, one of the participants is taken from the Champions League Europa League championship the previous season. Inter had a chance to escape through this way because now they still persist in the last 32 of the Europa League and will be against Celtic.
“It can be done through the Europa League. I think the league will be more difficult,” said Moratti told Football Italia.
“It’s not an easy time for (coach Roberto) Mancini or team. We have to hope they will be lucky and they can play better than before,” he said.
