Liverpool – Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers was sure his team would be able to return to compete chasing the Premier League title next season, following the inability to do so this season.
Last season the Reds already had time to be on the brink of the Premier League title, although ultimately must be willing to be runner-up only, with the title disabet by Manchester City.
However, the same thing can not afford repeated ‘The Red’ this season. Instead of competing for the title, Liverpool is now even still rooted to the standings board positions five and seven points adrift of Manchester United in fourth position – the Champions League zone.
Even though Rodgers remains optimistic look to the future. He explained his belief that when asked about the chances of Liverpool won the Premier League title and compete again next season.
“It is certain. When I came here it (the title) seems to look very far. The club is in the top eight and you never even talked about it,” Rodgers said as quoted by Soccerway.
“There is great disappointment we did not get involved in the competition for the title this season is a sign of how much the club has moved forward. Of course it is disappointing we could not compete. But we have great confidence can do it again. I’m pretty sure it will happen.”
“The ability of our current ratings may be similar to that currently we are living in. We can not take it for granted, we must continue to find ways how to make the players become more okay, work on projects owned by the owner of the club. It was something I wanted to do and so I will not break before make it happen, “he said.
